Either he acknowledges the one true God (who is the Omnipotent Creator of the Universe), or he'll make himself or some greenback as god (i dunno which is worse). You are right in your judgement about those who are materialistic, that they are also not without their ideals. It's just that, like their gods, which could have been made into toilet paper instead of greenback, their ideals are low and pitiful.

Now for those who say all sorts of nonsense about Christian principles (basically ideals are just these, ideas and principles) cannot be lived out in the "real world", let them go back to their history and social science text books. The framework of the developed world is build from the philosophy and principles of Christianity, whether in arts, business, jurisprudence, politics or science. But of course, there are some whose god is Ignorantia (hehehehe...), so let them be as their god is.

Perhaps it's time that we do not play the one in the Dock and be questioned and examined as if ours is the idea that have gone wrong. Mr. X, please make your way to the Dock NOW.
